Osiris (or Asar) is the Egyptian deity of death and the underworld. In mythology, Osiris was killed by the evil Set and was then resurrected. In immortality, he and goddess Isis produced child Horus. Shortly after the birth of Horus, Osiris was returned to the land of the dead and doomed to rule the underworld. Horus soon became thought of as the resurrected version of his father Osiris.
