More Information
Three fishermen in the foreground on a village dock. Compositionally, the perpendicular lines of the boat's mast, the men, the rising nets, the chimney, and the tower make for strong vertical lines that unite the image. Skilled labor was often compromised by employers seeking a cheaper and more abundant workforce in the immigrant labor pools.
