More InformationThis basket made by a Tlingit artist of the southern Alaskan coast is decorated with killer whales, which are the area’s largest predators and play an important role in local Native culture. The Tlingit traditionally used baskets to carry berries. Later on, many baskets much like this were made to sell to tourists.
